Wind Turbine Cleaning
THE FUTURE OF WINDOW TURBINE CLEANING

When maintenance staff at Pacific Blue Wind Farm noticed reduced performance from one of their turbines, a closer look revealed the problem — a recent bird strike had left residue and debris across one of the turbine blades. At over 90 metres high, accessing the blade for cleaning using traditional rope access would have required specialist crews, significant safety planning, and costly downtime.
Instead, the operations manager contacted Drone Cleaning Australia.
Using a specialised aerial cleaning drone, our team was able to safely approach the turbine blade and carry out a targeted soft-pressure clean from the air. The drone removed the biological residue and debris quickly, preventing staining and potential long-term damage to the blade surface.
At the same time, a visual inspection was conducted to ensure the blade structure had not been compromised.
The entire task was completed in a fraction of the time normally required, allowing the turbine to return to full operation quickly, safely, and with minimal disruption.
